Lima is an Eden

Lima Is an Eden is a short digital comic set over the course of a single night in Lima in 1984. In a city shaped by social tensions, urban precarity, and deep contradictions, the story follows Estela, a young journalist wandering through the night in search of escape, desire, and a provisional sense of freedom.

The comic constructs a fragmented portrait of the city, where darkness, noise, and marginal spaces become emotional landscapes. Through concise storytelling and a charged atmosphere, the work explores what it means to inhabit a metropolis marked by inequality and uncertainty. Lima emerges as an ambivalent territory — both hostile and seductive.

Rather than presenting a straightforward chronicle, Lima Is an Eden offers a sensory and subjective perspective on urban experience. The night becomes a liminal space where vulnerability and longing intersect, where fear and fascination coexist. Estela does not simply move through the city; the city, in turn, moves through her.
